In this largely ignored and since forgotten dark comedy directed by and featuring Peter Usinov, the Faust legend is retold (loosely) and applied to a mentally disturbed patient in a hospital run by a doctor (Ustinov) of dubious sanity himself. The patient (Burton) promises the naive orderly (Bridges) vast riches if he'll help him escape.
