Suffering from a severe case of depression, toy company CEO Walter Black (Mel Gibson) begins using a beaver hand puppet to help him open up to his family. Trama:
Walter Black, Presidente di un'azienda di giocattoli sull'orlo del fallimento, soffre di una grave forma di depressione. Quando la moglie lo caccia di casa, trova la marionetta di un castoro (beaver) e inizia ad animarla. Attraverso "Mr. Beaver", Walter diventa simpaticissimo, un vero vulcano di energia e di idee. Riesce a riconciliarsi con la moglie e il figlio piccolo e a riportare l'azienda al successo. Ma presto, "Mr. Beaver" diventa troppo ingombrante e, infine, anche pericoloso...
