Description follows below:

1280 X 720 HDTV video resolution at 2000k bitrate
2 channel AC3 Norwegian audio track at 128k bitrate (SRT English subtitles file
included so as to make other subtitles in other languages easy to make in
minutes using "Subtitles editor" free (or donation supported) program from
a site in Denmark using "automatic translation" mode. Works wonderfully and instantly
in may cases I would say based on my own experience with it creating English
subtitles from other Language offerings where English subs aren't included (such
as in the case of "Born in Absurdistan - PAL version" rare as that is - thank goodness)

Hope for an even better version of this great production soon in the form
of a blu-ray - I've already contacted NRK Norway TV (the original broadcasters)
to encourage them to make this happen soon I believe.

This offering from Norway starring Ms. Lise Fjeldstad is the best rendition of
Henrik Ibsen's greatest work "A Doll's House" that has ever been produced,
being entirely faithful to a more honest exposition of differing character traits
between the actors on the stage.

The Anthony Hopkins (with Claire Bloom additionally) UK rendition and indeed
most other renditions do not come close to being as great a work as this
production from Norway is that I bring to you here - although the Germany
production is also excellent in its own right.

The Hopkins version is poorly cast in its unsuitable selection of
Claire Bloom for the part  of "Nora" as it defeats the purpose of the tale.
The Jane Fonda version is of interest for mainly American audiences
I should think as once again such casting doesn't make the contrast vivid
enough to serve to teach about human nature as it exists in some and is
set upon by others in our midst at a time when we would most want
support as does our dear Nora in the Norwegian rendition.

Indeed the human beauty of lovely spirit Nora in this version is cruelly (I believe)
assailed by the witch like ventings of her husband Torvald after he discovers
that she has done something wrong legally for which they could lose a great
deal as a family. He has a valid enough grievance, however I believe he is wrong
in how he treats her as a result as I think these opposing personalty types on
the planet have yet to resolve their differences and are likely never to do so
peacefully I believe. I say we should cheer on the great human spirit of Nora
and make the world a better place in which to live. amen

Kindly seed for the sake of "dear Nora" on our planet!
wherever she may exist at the present time
