Inclusive Tech: The Case for Inclusive Leadership
Course details
Inclusive leadership in technology can offer business, ethical, and social benefits. But what does it mean to be inclusive, why does it matter, and how do you get started? This course provides a bridge for technology managers and motivated team leaders to enter diversity, inclusion, and belonging (DIBs) training. Instructor Jessica Rose takes you through the case for inclusive leadership, what it means for a new team versus an established team, and the real challenges leaders can face around inclusivity. Jessica concludes with a look at the bigger picture in tech, reinforcing why it is everyone's responsibility to build a better future for technology.
Inclusive leadership
“ - [Narrator] Inclusion is more than just the right thing to do. Inclusion efforts, look at how to make the technology industry more meaningfully accessible to people from a wide range of different backgrounds, including people from backgrounds that are currently underrepresented and currently marginalized in tech. Building and sustaining inclusive teams has been meaningfully linked to more robust products and to better performing teams. There are concrete actions and approaches that you can take in building, managing and supporting your team as a leader. I'm Jessica Rose, a long time advocate for educational and employment access in technology. I'm so excited to be speaking to learners interested in learning inclusive leadership and technology. Join me for my course on LinkedIn learning, where we'll explore not only these concrete actions you can take, but also some of the more abstract aspects of inclusion, such as the ongoing processes of winning over your stakeholders. Let's get started together.
