English SDH subtitles OCRed, proofed and corrected.
Note : Sure, it's one of four underwater movies that came out in 1989, and it's not particularly original, playing like a mix of Alien and The Thing set underwater, but it's got a cast that's a who's who of character actors you know and love, including Peter Weller (Robocop), Richard Crenna (all the Rambo movies), Amanda Pays (Max Headroom), Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters), Daniel Stern (Home Alone), and Meg Foster (They Live), and the great production design is by Ron Cobb (Star Wars, Alien, The Abyss, Total Recall). The practical effects and miniatures look great, the premise is intriguing, and the cast is good, so who cares if the script is predictable and the monster design ends up not being very satisfying in the end? It's a fun watch.
This is also a pretty decent looking remaster, saturation and color could have been a little better, but it's a nice viewing experience, and the 5.1 remaster sounds very good.
