Ghostwatch (1992), directed by Lesley Manning, encoded in 10 bit HEVC with AAC sound, including original stereo, two commentary tracks, and English SDH subtitles.

IMDb : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0200659/

Video encoded in two-pass 9 000 kbps x265 10bit with the veryslow preset for archive quality image.

Note : Shown only once on the BBC, the channel that created it, after its first broadcast, pretending to be a real TV show, resulted in an estimated million calls from viewers, this, along with Cannibal Holocaust and The McPherson Tape, has a good claim on being one of the originators of found footage or mockumentary horror. It kind of does for poltergeists what the original War of the Worlds broadcast did for alien invasions on radio, and pretends to be a real live show, with an on-location TV team at a haunted house, along with presenters in the studio, lead by Michael Parkinson, an actual BBC presenter and talk show host. The show was so controversial, with the apparent haunting getting out of hand on live TV, that it's never been rebroadcast in the UK. The actual story is loosely based on the Enfield Poltergeist, which was also the basis for The Conjuring 2.

The Halloween night "live broadcast" starts out with hosts in the studio presenting a real-time investigation of a supposedly haunted house, where a woman and her two daughters are plagued by poltergeist activity. At some point, there are indications that it's actually a hoax, but callers to the show claim they've seen strange figures in the video footage from the house, and also that paranormal activity has started occuring in their own homes as they've been watching the show, and disturbing local history details about the supposed spirit's background come to light, leading to a strange climax where everyone has their beliefs challenged, and the BBC telephone switchboard melts into slag.

The quality of this Blu-Ray is about what you can expect from a TV show from 1992. It's been upscaled well enough, but the image quality is what it is, and the very authentic analog video feel kind of enhances the verisimilitude. Stereo track is fine, and the two commentary tracks are quite interesting.

HeVK torrents always have lots of keywords. Try searching for “hevk found footage” for more fiction pretending to be real, “hevk poltergeist” for more rapping on your chamber door or elsewhere, or “hevk 90s” for more from the decade when found footage really became a thing, although most of it many years after this.
