Prologue: The torrent community asked me to upload a higher quality version of Ready Player One 2018 in 1080p. The video quality of other AV1 encodes did not meet their expectations. There was too much film grain and the bitrates were too low. I ended up saving 788MB over an example source by optimizing the audio streams to match source quality. And removing over 500MB of unnecessary subtitles. Four languages are supported and have subtitles. I increased the file size by 41% to 5.53GB and applied 63% more bits to the video quality. The bitrate is no longer deprived for a noticeable improvement. Less than 3Mbps bitrates on AV1 are not adequate for 1080p. They create too many video artifacts.
Encoder Note: Total encoding time was 7h 29m on an i9-12900k. SVT-AV1 v1.7 Mode 4 was used, which is equivalent to Mode 3 on v1.6. The video stream was compressed from 23.2GB AVC to 4.64GB AV1. Video compression ratio is 5 to 1. (2.5 to 1 after AV1 efficiencies) The bitrate of the video stream is 4.7Mbps in AV1. This higher threshold is especially required for the high motion movie. 84% of the file size is the video quality. 4% English audio, 4% German audio, 3% French audio and 3% Spanish Audio. OPUS was used. French and Spanish are slightly lower to reflect source quality, without wasting file space. The video quality is comparable to the Bluray.
Distribution note: This movie will be distributed with a 8MB piece size for rapid seeding with fewer resources. Enjoy the fast download speeds.
UserHEVC screenshots are now JPEG tone mapped for rapid page loading speeds and more accurate video quality representation.
UserHEVC encodes AV1 movies. Razor high video quality. Reasonable file size.
UserHEVC recommends a 9.2GB x264 or 6.9GB HEVC video stream, to match 4.6GB video quality on AV1.

“I encode videos to solve a problem, not to create one.” - UserHEVC
I started encoding videos to strive to do better. My Computer Science background helps to make better choices. File size is a problem, which is why video codecs (such as AVC, HEVC and AV1) compress bits of information. The choices we make to configure video codecs, impact us more than we know.
Please seed, it's a respect thing:
Quote:
It's recommended to seed for at least a 1:1 ratio or 24 hours. Otherwise, the uploader's work goes to waste. The torrent will not propagate as effectively and there will be less seeders retained long term. If you have a slow connection – it's fine. Staying on the torrent for 24 hours has a tremendous impact!
Still think the file size is too high? Here's an example of blocking artifacts.
4Mpbs or less x264 streams are terrible. 5Mbps on AV1 is 2.5 times better.
