Kill, Baby, Kill (1966) aka Operazione paura, directed by Mario Bava, Arrow remaster, encoded in 10 bit HEVC with AAC sound, including original Italian theatrical mono, English mono dub, commentary track, and English subtitles.

IMDb : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060794/

Video encoded in two-pass 14.0 Mbps x265 10bit with the veryslow preset for archive quality image. Audio encoded separately with Apple AAC for the highest-quality AAC sound available.

Text subtitles converted to SRT, image subtitles converted to VobSub and repositioned.

Note : Maybe the last of the classic Italian gothic horror films, Mario Bava definitely makes the subgenre go out with a bang, with a plethora of foggy graveyards, ghosts glimpsed through a darkened window, family secrets, winding Carpathian village streets, curses, and crumbling mansions. It's also gorgeously shot, with the colored light and artistic framing of every shot reminding me of Blood and Black Lace (although this isn't quite as stylized). The story isn't anything really special, but the atmosphere is great.

A doctor is sent to a small Carpathian village to perform an autopsy on a woman who died mysteriously, and a local medical student is assigned to witness it. Together, they find a silver coin embedded in the dead woman's heart. The village is full of strange superstitions, including that of the ghost of a young girl who curses those who see her, and when the doctor goes to see Baroness Graps at her crumbling villa, he encounters the ghost when he's leaving. More people die mysteriously, and the doctor finds out that the ghost is that of the Baroness' dead daughter, but his modern methods seem powerless against the curse afflicting the village.

This is a quite decent looking remaster, although it was quite grainy, so I've done some slight degrain. It's not very sharp, but that's very likely just how period lenses looked. Color and contrast is nice, and the mono tracks sound nice and clear, commentary track by Tim Lucas as usual very worth listening to if you're a Bava fan.

HeVK torrents always have lots of keywords. Try searching for “hevk gothic horror” for more foggy and crumbling everything, “hevk ghost” for more of the spirits of the dead making a nuisance of themselves, or “hevk 60s” for more from the decade of lurid colored lighting, although rarely as good looking as here.
