The Werewolf vs the Vampire Woman
Elvira is travelling through the French countryside with her friend Genevieve, searching for the lost tomb of a medieval murderess and possible vampire, Countess Wandessa. They find a likely site in the castle of Waldemar Daninsky, who invites the women to stay as long as they like. As Waldemar shows Elvira the tomb that supposedly houses the countess, she accidentally causes the vampire to come back to life, hungrier than ever. Daninsky has a hidden secret of his own, but will it be enough to save the two girls from becoming Wandessa's next victims?

Note : Time for some more Paul Naschy gettin' nasty, and the man's really establishing a pattern here: He likes playing both the hero and the villain (either in double roles, or, in this case, as a werewolf who's fighting a vampire), he surrounds himself with beautiful women who fall into his bed and generally get naked a lot, and there's a lot of blood on tits. This is actually Naschy's fourth werewolf film, and a sequel to the previous one, but who gives a shit, because it stands on its own two... paws, and was apparently Naschy's most successful film. The women are very pretty, the sex and gore is quite gratutious for 1971, and the main vampire woman's outfit is every goth girl's dream. Cast, apart from the Naschster himself, includes Gaby Fuchs (yes she does indeed), Patty Shepard, Andrés Resino, Barbara Capell, and Yelena Samarina. When people say "euro-sleaze", this is what they mean.
Waldemar Daninsky is a werewolf, and also quite dead after the events of the previous film, but some doctors remove the silver bullets from his chest, reviving him, and getting a facefull of wolf for their trouble. Later, two students, Elvira and Genevieve, travel the countryside casually searching for the tomb of legendary medieval murderer Countess Wandessa Darvula de Nadasdy, as one does, and when it turns out the possible site of the grave is near the castle of Snoop Daninsky, he invites them to stay with him so they can investigate. Of course, this being the 70s, when women were still useless, when they find the grave, Elvira promptly cuts herself and bleeds all over the corpse, just after removing the silver cross that's stuck through its heart, so now we have two problems, a vampire bitch being one. Women in the vicinity, including Elvira, are soon turned into vampires, and as more people end up dead, Daninsky is forced to unleash his beastly side to doggy style the vampire woman back to the grave.
This transfer is pretty average, but it's fine, maybe a bit grainy, although color is good, contrast is decent, and it's fairly clean, with ok detail. Mono track sounds fine, if you ignore the fact that all the dialogue is badly dubbed in. No extras of any kind.
