In 2025, Craft Recordings reissued Superman: The Movie (Original Motion Picture Score) — a reimagined version of John Williams' original score for the 1978 film. This recording, first released in 1998 by Varèse Sarabande, was performed by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra under the direction of John Debney.

The 1998 recording was created as an alternative to the original soundtrack, since the original John Williams scores had been lost. A team of orchestrators reconstructed the music from Williams' sketches, resulting in some differences in tempo and orchestration compared to the original.
